Gaza- “As if I had grown 100 years during this crazy war,” says the legal advisor and specialized in international law, Ghanem Al -Attar (70 years), whose occupation forces destroyed his home and office in the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, and has lived the tragedy of displacement for 22 months.

Al -Attar will reside with this tent after a bitter displacement journey accompanied by his large family, which started with the early days of the Israeli war on the Strip after October 7, 2023, and they moved from one place to another, until their current station, which he classifies as the most difficult and cruel period of war, as a result of starvation and thirst.

He wrote to this family to escape many dangers, one of which left an effect that Al -Attar still senses his pain, when he lost one of his daughters in a massacre committed by Israel known as the “Brexat massacre” northwest of the city of Rafah in the south of the Strip in May 2024.
Al -Attar is sponsored by orphans from his grandchildren with his family, and he suffers to provide food and drink for them, in light of a strict siege and the closure of the crossings and the prevention of the occupation to introduce humanitarian supplies to the absence of two million and 300 thousand people in the Gaza Strip since last March 2.
“It was killed by starvation and thirst, which is a more deadly weapon of missiles and bombs,” says Al -Attar, who begins his hard day early, roaming the streets and throughout the most crowded area in the sector in search of water and food.

And Attar is a prisoner who spent 30 months in the occupation prisons since the beginning of its youth, and all the Israeli wars lived on Gaza, and despite the harsh circumstances he lives and that affected its features and appearance, it did not get his resolve and steadfastness.
In the language of confident, he says, referring to his hand to his tent: “A tent on my land in Gaza is better than all of the world, and this war will stop and we will rebuild our lives here, and the plots of displacement will fall.”
