A number of Palestinians suffered from suffocation as a result of inhaling tear gas, today, Friday, fired by the Israeli occupation army to disperse a march denouncing settlement activity in the northern occupied West Bank.

The occupation army fired gas bombs at a march that took place in the town of Beita, south of the city of Nablus, denouncing settlement in the Palestinian territories, which led to a number of Palestinians suffering from suffocation and they were treated on the field.

On the other hand, the participants in the protest march lit damaged car tires and denounced the Israeli settlements and violations.

Every Friday, a march denouncing settlements has been organized in Beita for several years, and the Israeli army usually suppresses it with live and metal bullets and gas bombs.

In a related context, two Palestinians were injured during confrontations with the occupation forces in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, in the south of the West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that its crews in Hebron dealt with two injuries from live bullets, one to the chest and the other to the hand, in the town of Beit Ummar, “and they were transferred to the hospital.”

Eyewitnesses reported that confrontations broke out between Palestinian youths and occupation army forces near a military watchtower in the center of the town of Beit Ummar, where the two young men were injured by bullets fired by soldiers stationed in the tower.

In parallel with its war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, the Israeli army expanded its operations in the West Bank, while settlers escalated their attacks, which led to the death of 718 Palestinians, the injury of about 5,750, and the arrest of more than 10,900 citizens, according to official Palestinian institutions.

With absolute American support, Israel is waging a devastating war in Gaza that has left more than 137,000 Palestinians martyred and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.

In disdain for the international community, Israel continues its devastating war, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to stop it immediately, and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
