Video clips from Tel Aviv Tribune showed medical teams dealing with sick children in a shelter school in Rafah, Gaza, as a result of the spread of infectious diseases among them, and trying to provide treatment for them with the available capabilities, even if they were few and insignificant compared to their need for medicine and treatment.

Izzat Bakr, who was displaced from the Beach Camp to the Al-Quds Shelter School in Rafah, complained about the spread of diseases among children due to the overcrowding of the displaced. He said: “We suffer from diseases that appear on the bodies of children, such as bacteria and infectious diseases, as I saw on my daughter’s body granules and bubbles like water.” .

Nurse Muhammad Madi spoke about the diseases affecting children in the shelter school, the difficulties they face as a result of the Israeli siege, and the difficulty of obtaining medicine and medical supplies necessary for treatment.

Madi said: “I am displaced from Gaza City, and my colleagues and I formed a medical point in Al-Quds School to shelter the displaced in Rafah. We deal with children in particular because they are the target group for care, as there are about 800 children in the school, and this crowding leads to the rapid spread of infectious diseases, especially children because they are few.” Their immunity and we are trying to deal with them properly and provide them with the necessary medications.”

He pointed out that skin diseases are the most common thing that affects children, and some cases include burns and chest diseases, as well as intestinal infections, pointing to the lack of capabilities and the difficulty of obtaining medicines.

He added that sometimes, when they are unable to provide the necessary medications, they try to refer cases to hospitals or health centers in Rafah.
