Qatar 365 explores some of the most fun activities to try in Qatar for adventure seekers or dreamers, whether it’s rock climbing, parkour or events like the LEGO exhibition where imagination is the only limit.
Whether you’re looking for adventure or family-friendly activities, Qatar has it all. The Qatar 365 team took part in fun indoor and outdoor activities. Let’s start with something unexpected for Qatar: rock climbing. Laila Humairah visited Aspire Zone, home to Qatar’s first outdoor climbing facility and EsQalar sports. Climbing enthusiasts can try their hand at a variety of techniques, including rope climbing, lead climbing, bouldering and free climbing, on 10.5-metre-high walls modelled after the famous Zekreet Rocks in the western part of the peninsula.
For a different kind of adventure, Laila met Talal Altamimi, founder of Freestylers Tribe, Qatar’s first parkour gym. Parkour is a fusion of running, climbing, jumping and stunts that offers a unique way to overcome obstacles. Talal shared his journey, the challenges he overcame and the skills he developed. He designed a program for children, not only to teach them the sport, but also to give them confidence. With the sport’s growing popularity, Talal sees parkour as a potential Olympic discipline in the near future.
Finally, Aadel Haleem visited the LEGO exhibition that recently took place at the Qatar National Convention Center, for those looking for a mental challenge rather than a physical one. Unique LEGO creations were built over an area of 10,000 square meters. An ideal place for children, but also adults who have kept their childlike spirit, to admire spectacular creations or let their imagination run wild to play and build things with these legendary bricks.
