India: explosion near Israeli embassy


An explosion took place on Tuesday near the Israeli embassy in New Delhi, without causing any casualties within the embassy, ​​according to Israeli and Indian sources.

“This evening an explosion took place very close to the embassy,” said Ohad Nakash Kaynar, the deputy head of the Israeli diplomatic mission in New Delhi, in a statement.

“All our employees are safe, all our diplomats are safe. Our security teams are working in close cooperation with local security forces in New Delhi, and they will investigate later,” he added.

Teju Chitri, a security guard at a nearby language institute, told the Press Trust of India (PTI) that he heard the explosion, which occurred in a very secure area of ​​government buildings. and foreign diplomatic missions.

“I heard an explosion…I went out and saw smoke coming from near a tree,” the security guard said.
