In the video: Residents of the Al-Dawa area in central Gaza: They are staying and will not leave Policy

Gaza- In light of the repeated displacement during the brutal Israeli war that has been ongoing on the Gaza Strip for 8 months, Gazans are recalling the Nakba of our fathers and grandfathers in 1948, the 76th anniversary of which falls in mid-May.

Despite the circle of blood and destruction that expands day after day, Gazans demonstrate a tremendous ability to withstand, cling to the land, and reject plans for displacement abroad, while the survival instinct drives them to move from one place to another within the small coastal strip in search of the least dangerous area, as there is no safe place.

Resilience

Local and international bodies estimate that more than 85% of the Gaza Strip’s population – 2.3 million people – were forced by the war to leave their homes and areas of residence, and to flee from one place to another, since the outbreak of Israeli aggression following the attack on October 7 of last year.

In this story, Tel Aviv Tribune Net monitors aspects of the steadfastness of the residents of the Al-Dawa area north of Nuseirat in the middle of the Gaza Strip, which was subjected to an Israeli ground military operation, intense air and artillery bombardment, and was completely destroyed. Despite this, its residents insist on staying there, clinging to their lands, residing on the ruins of their homes, and even planting olives while waiting for their homes to be rebuilt.
