The figures were provided by the Community Security Trust (CST), a charity responsible for recording anti-Semitic acts and protecting Jewish schools and places of worship.
This is a sad record for the year 2023. 4,103 anti-Semitic acts were recorded in the United Kingdom, an increase of 147% compared to 2022.
Among the acts recorded, more than 3,300 insults and abusive behavior, 300 threats and attacks and nearly 200 degradations such as tags.
A high level mainly due to international news. Since the Hamas attack on October 7 and Israel’s military response in the Gaza Strip, these anti-Semitic acts have surged in the United Kingdom, but also across Europe.
This conflict, which is ongoing, has also led to an increase in incidents against the Muslim community, as the London police chief indicated at the end of October.
