In the midst of genocide and massacres… messages of steadfastness and pain from northern Gaza policy

“Our steadfastness in Gaza and its north is not our strength, but rather it is from God alone. There are no elements for steadfastness and steadfastness in it from the material side or even the moral and psychological aspect.” With these words, journalist Ahmed Al-Zaytouna expressed the suffering of tens of thousands of Palestinians trapped amid the Israeli killing machine in northern Gaza.

Al-Zaytouna adds, saying: “Are canned goods and other necessities steadfast?! People here are in a state of anguish, famine, and extreme psychological and moral devastation, but praise be to God… I do not want anyone to talk to us about steadfastness and steadfastness. Please live among us, and say what you want.”

Despite the Israeli siege and the internet outage in light of the Israeli military campaign on the northern Gaza Strip, and the ongoing massacres for 14 days that led to the death of about 400 Palestinians, a number of Palestinians published messages mixed with pain and steadfastness in which they expressed a small part of what the people of the north are suffering from.

The situation is getting worse every minute, as the Israeli occupation forces target every moving object and prevent water, food and medicine supplies from entering the North Governorate, amid intense artillery and air bombardment.

One of the most prominent of this message is a video clip published by Palestinian media of a wounded man after he was pulled from under the rubble of his house, saying in a weak voice out of intense pain, “I sacrifice Gaza, I sacrifice the resistance, I sacrifice my soul for the sake of Palestine.”

A crumb of bread

As for journalist Mahmoud Al-Amoudi, he wrote on Facebook: “I thought that a piece of dry bread was only for novels and writings, and that it was a metaphorical expression of poverty and hunger, but I lived it literally these days and I ate a piece of dry bread and my children, and praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds.”

In a video on YouTube, Al-Amoudi sent a message to the residents of the north, in which he said, “Don’t despair and think poorly of God Almighty, and do not say that people are united to eliminate us. It is enough for us that we are on God’s side.”

He added, “In the midst of destruction, in the midst of death, and in the most difficult times of our lives, we will continue to have good faith in God and trust in Him.”

As for the Palestinian preacher Jihad Helles, he wrote: “By God, if you saw the oppression of people in Gaza, you would not believe that a human being can endure all these horrors and remain alive and not die!! By God, if it were a rock, it would explode, if it were a sea, it would vaporize, and if it were a mountain.” It would crack, and if it were iron, it would melt!!”

He added, “Be ashamed of the superficiality of your concerns in the face of the great calamity we have seen, and do not become accustomed to the scene, for God sees and bears witness.”

“I’m proud of my father and mother”

As for the activist Muhammad al-Najjar, a resident of Jabalia, he chose to send his message via Twitter to his parents, saying: “A year of steadfastness and steadfastness in Jabalia. I am proud of my mother, father, and my family who did not budge from Jabalia camp, and their statement was: We would rather starve than kneel, and we will not be displaced twice, and it will never be.” In the kingdom of God, except what has been written.”

In another post on Twitter, Al-Najjar wrote: “What is happening in Jabalia has gone beyond the idea of (the generals’ plan) and is not compatible with it. The enemy wants to destroy Jabalia in a way that makes it unviable.”

He adds that the stability of the population in Jabalia ends the dreams of the occupation army of emptying it of its people, in addition to the moral defeat of the army leaders in the face of the steadfastness of residents defenseless except by their will, but we will be facing a shattered Jabalia.

The “generals’ plan” means separating the north of the Gaza Strip from its south, besieging and starving the people to force them to choose between death and surrender.

A message of pain

Many of the messages of the besieged people were not devoid of a tone of pain and a feeling of disappointment, as stated in the message of journalist Karam Hassan, in which he said, “Let the world after God bear witness that they feel hungry and cold “in the face of a silent and weak world, most of which know our affliction and pain and do not care about our affairs. May God not pardon or forgive.” “Everyone who could have stood by us and abstained.”

In turn, journalist Ahmed Wael Hamdan wrote, expressing the suffering of tens of thousands of Palestinians besieged in northern Gaza, saying: “Do not be deceived by our outward appearance. Our souls have become marred, our backs have been broken, and our bodies have withered from this war, and we have no one but God.”

He added, “Even if you do not find anything to offer us, stand and share our sadness and crying, filling us with tears, for the oceans of our hearts have dried up.”

In the same context, journalist Jannat Nofal says, “We, the residents of Jabalia in northern Gaza, envy the residents of Hiroshima for their very merciful way of death. We have been dying in oppression, humiliation, hunger, and terror for a year and more, and this is a slow death.”

Meanwhile, Tel Aviv Tribune Mubasher correspondent in northern Gaza, Hossam Shabat, concludes with a message in which he says, “The pain and difficulties we are experiencing cannot be imagined by the mind: siege, killing, hunger, displacement, and bombing.”

Fear and anxiety surround us from all sides. There is no security or security for anyone. Everyone is in constant danger. Blood and corpses fill the streets, alleys, and hospitals. The occupation seeks to destroy us and erase our existence.

With American support, the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza left more than 141,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded and thousands missing, amid massive destruction and famine that killed dozens of children and the elderly.

Tel Aviv continues its massacres, ignoring the UN Security Council resolution to end them immediately and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent genocide and improve the miserable humanitarian situation in Gaza.
