On May 6, Israel announced the start of a military operation in Rafah, claiming that it was “limited in scope,” before the Israeli occupation army announced its occupation of the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, which connects the Gaza Strip to Egypt.
Since then, resistance operations have witnessed great momentum, and the occupation has inflicted heavy losses in lives and equipment.
Statistics published by the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – show that they were able to kill more than 40 Israeli officers and soldiers, and were able to destroy 190 houses in which the occupation soldiers were barricaded.
Al-Qassam data also indicates that it destroyed more than 95 Merkava tanks, 25 military bulldozers, and 17 troop carriers.
Comparing Al-Qassam’s data with the Israeli army’s data, a big difference appears between what each party announced, as the occupation army admitted that only 24 soldiers were killed, while Al-Qassam announced double this number.
