Israeli air raids continued against Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip as Israel widened its attack on the besieged enclave.

The military campaign, now in its 25th day, has sparked growing international concern over Gaza’s 2.3 million residents living under siege.

With fierce urban warfare now feared as Israeli tanks and armored bulldozers drive through the rubble of Gaza’s destroyed buildings, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari called on Palestinian civilians to head towards the south “towards a safer area”.

But even in the border town of Rafah, residents still struggle to find shelter from Israeli bombings, and even find the essentials due to the lack of food, water and medicine.
