Polish farmers blocked around a hundred roads and crossing points into Ukraine. Tensions which complicate relations between Kyiv and Warsaw.
By blocking the roads leading to Ukraine, these Polish farmers want to make their anger heard.
For weeks, they have been protesting against the influx of Ukrainian agricultural products, exempt from customs duties, into the European Union. A measure decided by the EU, in solidarity with Kyiv. But for these demonstrators, it is unfair competition.
“We are flooded with food from Ukraine, we are affected by the EU mess, everything is upside down“, explains a protester.
“We are waiting for action from the government, we hope they will do something for us, otherwise we will protest until the end“, explains a farmer.
These protests have strained relations between Ukraine and Poland, which strongly supported the country after the Russian invasion. Polish farmers are now threatening to demonstrate in the capital, Warsaw.
