The toll of Israeli attacks is increasing in the Gaza Strip, reaching at least 25,700 dead to date and more than 63,000 injured, according to the Hamas health ministry.

This Wednesday, in Rafah, at least five people were killed during strikes which targeted a mosque. A report noted by the Associated Press agency.

The same day, in Khan Yunis, at least nine people were killed by Israeli tank fire against a training center run by the United Nations, where thousands of Palestinians had taken refuge.

“The UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) training center in Khan Younes, which housed 10,000 displaced people, was attacked (Wednesday) afternoon, with numerous victims have been identified,” said Jamie McGoldrick, Humanitarian Action Coordinator. “Some buildings are on fire, deaths have been reported. Many people trying to escape have been trapped.”

Washington deplores this new attack against UN premises.

“We deplore the attack on the UN training center in Khan Younes,” said Vedant Patel, deputy spokesperson for the US State Department. “As the Secretary of State has already indicated, civilians must be protected and the protective nature of UN premises must be respected.”

In Tel Aviv, the police intervened to disperse demonstrators who had come to demand the release of Israeli hostages, and who were trying to block access to the highway.
