Casablanca After long hours of hunger strike, hundreds of Moroccans gathered near the American consulate in Casablanca, to demand the end of starvation in Gaza and the condemnation of American support for the mass extermination war launched by the Israeli occupation over the Palestinians in the Strip.
The demonstrators in the popular sit -in, which was called by the Moroccan Front to support Palestine and anti -normalization, raised slogans calling for the opening of the Rafah crossing, such as “Stop the massacres, open the crossings”, and another denouncing American participation in the war.
The sit -in square witnessed the installation of tents and the organization of shows that embodied the suffering of the children of Gaza and its people, in light of the war of extermination that has been going on for more than 22 months, and the participants also raised pictures that reflect the tragedy of starvation and pictures of the martyrs from journalists who were martyred while documenting the conditions in the sector.
Partnership
Political and human rights organizations participated in the sit -in, including the Justice and Charity Group, the Democratic approach and the Moroccan Society for Human Rights, in addition to the movement of boycotting Israel, withdrawing investments, including and imposing sanctions on them “BDS”, and demanded that the participants end the normalization agreements with Israel and the closure of its call office in Rabat.
This event is the first of its kind in front of the American consulate, as part of a wave of sit -ins in Moroccan cities a week ago, including Marrakech, Tangier and Rabat, in a popular escalation to demand the cessation of the war on Gaza.
In conjunction with the sit -in in Casablanca, activists continued their symbolic hunger strike a full day. Al -Hassan Al -Sunni, a member of the Moroccan Front for the Support of Palestine and the Anti -Normalization, told Al -Jazeera Net: “We wanted through this strike to live a small part of the pain and suffering that our brothers live in Gaza daily.”

America is a partner in genocide
Al -Sunni, a lawyer in the Casablanca Authority, pointed out that the policy of starvation is legally prohibited in accordance with international agreements, foremost of which is the agreement to prevent and punish the crime of genocide.
He added to Al -Jazeera Net that the selection of the American consulate to hold the stand came to confirm that Washington “bears a direct responsibility for what is happening in Gaza, whether through armament or through its positions in the Security Council and its frequent use of the right of the veto to disrupt any decision condemning the Zionist entity.”
Al -Sunni also made an appeal to the International Criminal Court to expand the investigation department to include the American role in the ongoing crimes against Gaza.
Among the crowd, the attention drew attention to a girl who hides her face in a keffiyeh, which later became clear from a passing talk that she was an American who refused to reveal her identity for special reasons, but she expressed her refusal to exterminate in Gaza, saying, “What is happening there with the support of my country’s administration is terrible.”
The demonstrators denounced the passage of what they described as “extermination ships” in the ports of Casablanca and Tangier, referring to ships belonging to the Danish shipping company “Merck Line”, confirming their refusal to hold it carrying parts of “F-35” aircraft coming from the American port of Houston to the port of Haifa.
The sit -in also witnessed the recitation of the names of the martyrs of children in Gaza through Moroccan activists, while the children of Morocco sent messages of solidarity through expressive paintings that included theatrical performances and influential chants.

Continuous sit -ins
In Rabat, the “Moroccan Against Normalization” group organized a female sit -in devoted to highlighting the martyrs of infants, and witnessed the names of about a thousand children who were martyred before they completed their first year since the start of the Israeli aggression in October 2023.
In an impressive scene, many posts and passers -by were shed tears while reading names. The human rights activist Khadija Al -Riyadi left the place moments after being affected, and she told Al -Jazeera Net, “I did not expect to be affected in this way despite my habit of scenes of pain daily, but when the names began to recite, I imagined the faces of infants as if they were all my children.”
Al -Riyadi, the coordinator of the “Moroccan Against Normalization” group, added that the conditions are no longer tolerated, noting that “the peoples of the world go out to the squares while the regimes still support the occupation.”

Brutality
She explained that the allocation of the event to the martyrs of children came to highlight the size of the brutality pursued by the occupation, with the allocation of an exhibition for the martyrs journalists in Gaza, including the journalists of the Al -Jazeera network who paid their lives for the conversion of the truth.
In Marrakech, 3 consecutive sit -ins in the Koutoubia Square organized on July 24, 25 and 31 July, while the sit -ins and popular marches in Tangier continued during the past two weeks, with the protests continuing tomorrow in different Moroccan cities within the so -called “National protest day” for Gaza.
This national day is a series of simultaneous popular activities organized by the Moroccan Front to support Palestine and anti -normalization since May 2021, to denounce Israeli attacks and demand the cessation of normalization, or in conjunction with occasions such as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People and the Earth Day.
