Al-Bureij camp was not spared the violations of the Israeli occupation, which targeted the entire Gaza Strip from October 2023 until today, as the occupation forces committed massacres in it that led to the death of dozens and destroyed homes and dropped them on the heads of their residents.

The camp is located in the middle of the stripIt was established by UNRWA to host refugees after the 1948 Nakba, and is known for its overcrowding and narrow area.

The refugees there were subjected to several massacres at the hands of the Israeli occupation during the camp’s history, as they were bombed with internationally banned phosphorus bombs, and bombs were thrown from the windows of the refugees’ homes while they were sleeping.

None of us can forget the icon of the Al-Aqsa Intifada, the martyr Muhammad al-Durrah, who was born in 1988 and lived with his displaced family in the Bureij camp until his martyrdom.

In the last Israeli raid on a house in the camp, the people of Bureij woke up today, October 9, 2024, to an increase in the number of martyrs, reaching 19 martyrs, including children.
