The IDF concentrates its operations against Hamas in the Khan Younes region, in the south of the Gaza Strip, where the Nasser hospital treats the wounded.

In recent days, the Israeli army has dropped leaflets over the town calling on civilians to seek refuge further south.

According to satellite images, Israeli soldiers supported by around 150 tanks penetrated nearly 10 km inside the south of the Palestinian enclave.

Israel’s armed forces say they are working to spare civilians and accuse Hamas of using them as human shields in fighting inside densely populated urban areas.

According to images broadcast by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Hamas militiamen are confronting the Israeli army street by street.

Hamas still holds 137 hostages and also continues to fire rockets at Israel.
