Tel Aviv Tribune sources said that the perpetrator of the shooting operation that killed three Israeli officers at the Tarqumiya crossing, southwest of Hebron, in the southern occupied West Bank, was the martyr Muhannad Al-Aswad, a resident of the town of Idhna in Hebron. While the Israeli occupation army announced that it had killed the perpetrator of the Tarqumiya operation, the Palestinian resistance announced that it had ambushed an Israeli force in the Jenin camp.
The sources told Tel Aviv Tribune that the martyr Al-Aswad was a member of the Palestinian President’s guard and resigned in 2015.
Tel Aviv Tribune broadcasted pictures showing the house where the occupation forces surrounded the perpetrator of the Tarqumiya operation in Hebron for about two hours.
For his part, an Israeli army spokesman said that the suspect in the shooting at the police car in the town of Idhna was eliminated after he barricaded himself inside a house in Hebron.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that the occupation forces bombed the house with missiles after besieging it, and that the occupation army sent additional military reinforcements to the vicinity of the house.
Three members of the Israeli occupation police and border guard forces were killed in an operation east of the Tarqumiya military crossing, west of Hebron, this morning.
The occupation army explained that gunmen opened fire on a police car, and announced that the car used by the gunmen was found near the site of the attack.
Reinforcements and combing
The occupation said that it sent reinforcements and carried out a large-scale combing operation, during which it raided the neighboring town of “Idhna”. Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation army raided homes in the town and arrested a number of people.
According to field data provided by the occupation army, the shooting near Hebron took place one kilometer away from the Tarqumiya military checkpoint.
The checkpoint controls Route 35 and is considered one of the largest crossings on the separation wall between the Palestinian territories and the Green Line areas. The crossing also greatly affects the lives of Palestinians, as it imposes restrictions on movement and travel.
The attack came after a double operation that took place yesterday, Saturday, in the vicinity of the settlements of “Gush Etzion” and “Karmei Tzur”, about 15 kilometers northeast of Tarqumiya, which resulted in the injury of 3 Israeli soldiers, including a senior officer.
Clashes in Jenin
In Jenin, in the northern West Bank, the Israeli occupation forces continued their storming of the city and its camp for the fifth consecutive day.
Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that clashes broke out between Palestinian resistance fighters and the occupation forces inside the camp’s neighborhoods, during which explosive devices were detonated in Israeli vehicles.
The Al-Quds Brigades – Jenin Battalion said that it ambushed an Israeli force in the Jenin camp square, and injured Israeli soldiers.
For its part, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that two people were injured by live bullets inside the camp, as the occupation forces continued to raid Palestinian homes and force families to leave them.
Israeli bulldozers continued to destroy the city’s infrastructure and its camp, and besieged the “Khalil Suleiman” government hospital and the “Ibn Sina Hospital.”
An Israeli soldier was killed and others were injured yesterday in an ambush in the camp. Circulating pictures showed a number of soldiers carrying an injured soldier from inside the city’s Al-Damj neighborhood.
For the fifth consecutive day, Jenin and its camp, Tulkarm, Tubas and its Far’a camp in the northern West Bank, are being subjected to an Israeli attack that it said was the most extensive since 2002, resulting in the martyrdom of 22 Palestinians so far.
