Icon of patience.. Wael Al-Dahdouh plays football with children and the wounded | News

“Despite his pain and wounds, he consoles the children and the wounded,” this is how the audience on social media platforms reacted to a video published by photographer Hamdan Al-Dahdouh of the director of Tel Aviv Tribune’s office in Gaza and its correspondent, Wael Al-Dahdouh, playing football with the displaced people inside Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis.

Bloggers commented on the clip by saying that despite his pain, his wounds, and the great loss of his loved ones, he consoles injured and sick children by playing with them with the ball, and they said that he is a man of a thousand men, that he is pride, steadfastness, patience, and mercy.

Other commentators on the video described Wael Al-Dahdouh as an icon of steadfastness and determination to communicate what is happening in Gaza in terms of crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against the people of the Strip for more than 100 days.

The video has received more than a million views since Hamdan Al-Dahdouh posted it on his Instagram account within just 14 hours.

It is noteworthy that a number of members of the family of Tel Aviv Tribune correspondent in Gaza, Wael Al-Dahdouh – including his wife, son and daughter – were martyred in an Israeli bombing that targeted a house to which they were displaced in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip. His son Hamza was also martyred 10 days ago in an Israeli bombing that targeted journalists in the southern Gaza Strip.
