The head of the Global Coalition for the Support of Jerusalem and Palestine, Ahmed Ibrahimi, launched a warning of the danger of changes in the international and popular positions regarding the siege, starvation, and extermination of the Gaza Strip, accusing the international system of complete impotence and bias.

In statements to Al -Jazeera Net, Ibrahimi held the Israeli occupation and its allies responsible for closing the crossings and using starvation, siege and displacement as a weapon to allow the Palestinians and emphasized that supporting the Palestinians is a legal and moral duty.

The Global Coalition for Supporting Jerusalem and Palestine was established in 2011 in Istanbul, with the wide participation of institutions operating in Palestine from all over the world, with the aim of preserving the identity of Jerusalem and advocating the Palestinian cause and highlighting the importance of Jerusalem and Palestinian heritage, and building a variety of knowledge and various experiences to support Palestine in the media, politically and materially.

The collapse of international standards

The head of the Global Coalition for the Support of Jerusalem and Palestine said that the world is witnessing “serious transformations and new values”, as human rights and solidarity standards and confronting injustice have decreased in an unprecedented way, adding that “traditional standards are no longer suitable for analyzing or evaluating what is going on in Gaza.”

He accused international organizations of failing to protect the Palestinians, saying, “The Security Council and the United Nations are no longer a haven for the vulnerable, and many laws and precedents fell to the size of the tragedy.”

Ibrahimi pointed out that the absurd murder, which is transferred directly in the picture to the world, did not succeed in stopping the war, as happened in historical crises, considering that the rules of global politics have become more like the rules of the “mafia”, where interests overcame principles, and the major powers share influence at the expense of the rights of peoples, according to his description.

Starvation

Ibrahimi said that the Israeli occupation uses starvation and closed the crossings to pressure the Palestinian society in Gaza and try to break the will of steadfastness or pushing the population there for displacement.

He said, “After the occupation failed to eliminate the resistance or liberate the hostages by military force, it resorted to hitting the social front with the siege and starvation to leave Gaza empty in front of the resistance.”

Although he attributed the prevention of the arrival of humanitarian aid partly to the closure of the occupation, it also held part of the responsibility of the cordon of Gaza and the international system that was “established on the size of Zionism.” He believed that basic human rights such as food and medicine became unable to reach the Gazans, in a dangerous precedent that threatens international values as a whole.

The head of the Global Coalition for the Support of Jerusalem and Palestine revealed the continuation of the coalition institutions at work at the Gaza border and within it despite the risks, explaining that we “occupy more than 120 taxis in the sector, provide medical and food aid around the clock, and we have a presence in all regions despite the siege and the closure of crossings and prevent relief from entering only through rare and difficult paths.”

He pointed out that the idea of the coalition is mainly based on the existence of partnerships with several international and Arab organizations, such as the global central restaurant and relief organizations from Turkey and the Gulf states, in order to implement daily projects that include harboring thousands of families, digging water wells, restoring hospitals and distributing thousands of meals.

disappointment

Ibrahimi expressed a clear disappointment towards the size of the Arab, Islamic and international popular movement, saying, “Although the Gaza Strip has become the focus of human attention on the five continents, reactions did not reach the level of suffering” in the Strip’s residents.

He pointed out that the legendary steadfastness of the Palestinians is only met by limited positions, while “there are 7 billion people who saw pictures and massacres, and they did not move to stop this catastrophe.”

At the same time, he called on the nation, major institutions, and the liberals of the world for a practical move “that goes beyond excuses and political and legal barriers, and turns support to Gaza into a legal and moral duty, and not just a donation or a navigator.”

The Gaza Strip has been subjected to a complete blockade and aggression for more than 20 months, and about 2.3 million Palestinians suffer from real famine, according to United Nations reports.

Since October 7, 2023, more than 54 thousand have been martyred and about 125,000, as well as unknown numbers of missing persons under the rubble of their homes or from those who cannot team or ambulance teams to reach them as a result of the intense Israeli bombing, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.
