It is noteworthy that in a famous incident, the Israeli occupation army used the young man Jamal Muhammad Abu Al-Ala as a human shield hours after his arrest, handcuffing him and sending him to the Nasser Medical Complex before the soldiers stormed him last February.

The young man, Abu Al-Ela, handcuffed, arrived at the center of Nasser Medical Complex, carrying a message from the occupation soldiers to the displaced people, asking them to evacuate the complex.

After the young man, Abu Al-Ela, delivered the occupation soldiers’ message to the displaced, he returned handcuffed to the soldiers’ gathering center near the Nasser complex, only for the displaced to find him hours later, handcuffed and blindfolded, lying on the ground after being shot in the middle of his head.

Al-Shifa Complex

The Israeli soldiers inside the Shifa Medical Complex repeated what they had committed outside it by using a number of civilians as human shields and endangering their lives, according to testimonies collected by the investigation’s author.

Mahmoud Amer – a young man who was arrested by the Israeli occupation army during his return to Al-Shifa Medical Complex last March – confirms that he was used as a human shield by soldiers who were inside the complex.

He explains that the soldiers asked him to enter, along with other young Palestinians, into the depths of the pit of the communications room located in the compound’s courtyard after placing a camera on his head.

Under the threat of death, Amer carried out the soldiers’ request and entered the room. He found nothing in it except communications wires and some other equipment related to Internet lines.
