“I really want Mama to ask where Mama is.” Words from an innocent girl’s conversation with her rescuer the moment she was pulled from under the rubble of her house after it was targeted by Israeli occupation planes in the Gaza Strip, and she did not know that her mother had been martyred.

In a poignant video documented by Palestinian journalist Youssef Al-Saifi, it shows the first moments of rescuing the little girl Tulin, from under the rubble of her completely destroyed house, with blood covering her little face.

The scene sparked dissatisfaction among the pioneers of social media platforms at the Arab and international levels, and they circulated the video widely to convey what is happening to the children of Gaza to the world.

One of the activists said: “Tulin and thousands of children lived in terror under the rubble, and these painful moments will live in their memories for the rest of their lives.”

The pioneers wondered how the rescuers would tell this innocent child that her mother had left and would not return, and that Israel had killed her and stolen from her? One of the tweeters said, “Where is Mama?” No matter how old we all are, we will never grow old with this question, let alone a little girl emerging from the rubble!

Children in the Gaza Strip are subjected to severe suffering as a result of the war waged by the Israeli occupation on the Strip, as many of them were martyred and injured due to the violent bombing targeting homes, schools and hospitals since the beginning of the Israeli aggression.

Videos appear daily from Gaza documenting the extent of the suffering of innocence. Earlier, the official website for United Nations documents published a report, prepared by the Palestinian Return Center, entitled “Israeli violence against Palestinian children has increased since October 7, 2023.”

The center indicated that Palestinian children have become a major target of attacks by Israeli forces on Gaza since October 7, 2023 (i.e. since the Al-Aqsa flood), in direct violation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Through his account on the “X” platform, Omani doctor Khaled Al-Shamousi, who works as a volunteer risking his life in Gaza, narrated the details of the tragedy that the children of Gaza are experiencing and what they eat in the Strip due to severe hunger and food shortages.
