Palestinians displaced from the eastern part of Khan Younis in Gaza continued to arrive and set up tents in other areas of the city on Tuesday.

Israel ended an offensive in Khan Younis earlier this year and withdrew most of its armed forces.

However, the country issued an evacuation order on Monday, a sign that its military could return.

The spokesman for the UN Secretary-General said the organization’s members were deeply concerned by the recent expulsion order.

People are faced with the impossible choice of having to relocate – some most likely for the second or even third time – to areas where there are virtually no spaces or services. They must also remain in areas where they know fighting will take place..”

An Israeli airstrike killed at least eight people, including four children and two women, in the town of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

The Palestinians killed were displaced people who fled their homes in eastern Khan Younis on Monday.

Since October 7, the war against Hamas has left at least 37,925 dead and 87,141 injured.
