Gaza City, Gaza – Yousef Abu Sakran drowned next to his child and his injured wife, Iman, in a tent room at the Arab hospital al-Ahli when the sounds of people who run and shouted.
He entered the hospital courtyard long before dawn Sunday to ask him what was going on but found no clear response, only a new wave that the Israeli army had called people living around the hospital, demanding everyone’s expulsion in the medical center.
The 29 -year -old father reacted instantly. He picked up his five -year -old son, Mohammad, and he and Iman ran to the door.
Mohammad has serious injuries through his body, including third degree burns on the back and legs, but Yousef had to continue running with him.
“I was carrying my son, whose body was burned and run while he was screaming,” said Yousef. “His back was bleeding – his wounds were bleeding strongly – and he cried in agony.
“(So many people) injuries have reopened the sudden movement. I saw the family of a girl with vertebral injury trying to shoot her bed, but he was stuck in the debris.
“A few seconds after leaving the hospital, he was struck by two missiles that rocked the whole place. I said to my wife:” Imagine if we were a minute later. We would be dead. “”
Where to go with an injured boy?
Yousef and his wife were on the street with everyone from the hospital.
“He was around 2 am, and I didn’t know where to take my injured son. He suffered and bleed. There was neither clinics nor hospitals, and the tent in which we live is very far and completely unsuitable for his state. ”
Mohammad had been injured during an Israeli air strike on a block of houses in the Gaza district of Shujayea, who killed more than 20 people and injured dozens.
An hour after the hospital bomb, Yousef and his wife decided that they could do nothing other than bring Mohammad back to Al-Ahli.
“The place was black, and it was shaking the cannon powder and the dust. I went to the surgery building at the bottom of the hospital, where I found a nurse who had mercy of Mohammad’s state, treated her injuries and admitted it.”
Bombing a hospital like this, said Yousef, is a stain on the conscience of humanity.
“They bomb our houses above our heads, then bomb the hospitals while the patients and the wounded are inside. Where are we supposed to go?
“Isn’t that all this sorrow and suffering?”

Suhaib Hamed, 20, was sleeping in another tent room, right next to the hospital’s emergency building, which was affected.
Hamed was injured when he went to seek flour for his hungry family on February 29, 2024 – a day known as the “massacre of flour”, during which Israel killed 109 Palestinians and injured dozens while they were waiting for food aid.
He was shot dead in the leg by Israeli reservoirs, damaging his bones and fabrics to the point that he needed metallic implants and has been in the orthopedic department since then.
“My brother, who is usually staying with me, was not there. I don’t even know how I managed to stand on my injured leg, catch my crutches and flee,” Suhaib told Tel Aviv Tribune, leaving the surgery service after cleaning up and checking the injuries to the leg.
“I forgot my pain because of what I saw around me. Everyone was crying with terror and fear, just trying to survive. It was like the day of judgment. “
Suhaib also managed to get out of the hospital for a few minutes before two Israeli missiles are closing.
“My leg could no longer manage it, and my injury reopened and started to bleed.”
He could not continue to walk, so he stopped and called his brother, who came and supported him at home in the Zeitoun district, half an hour for a healthy person on undamaged roads.
The pain in his leg kept Suhaib, but he was also worried about the closure of the hospital.
“I stayed in the hospital (for over a year) because of my state,” he said. Suhaib has a medical reference to travel outside Gaza for treatment but has been waiting to leave for a year.
“The closure and ban on our trip not even target the hospital enough that always treats us with the little one which is available.”
Worse a catastrophic situation
The Israeli strike on Al-Ahli exacerbated an already catastrophic situation for the Gaza health system, which collapsed as Israeli bombardments and blocking on medicines, medical supplies and fuel continues.
