How likely is regional conflict in the Middle East? | Israel’s War on Gaza News

Israel has stepped up its attacks in Lebanon – and Hezbollah has vowed to retaliate.

The Israeli army has exchanged fire almost daily with the Lebanese group Hezbollah since the start of the Gaza war on October 7.

Hezbollah says it is acting in solidarity with its Gaza ally, Hamas, and will continue its attacks as long as Israel bombards the besieged Palestinian strip.

This week, Israeli attacks killed 10 civilians – including children – in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah promised to retaliate.

Both sides say they are not seeking all-out war, but more and more attacks are occurring well beyond the border area.

So what does each party want to achieve?
