Hasbara, does it ring a bell? It’s the Hebrew word for “explanation,” but it’s also a strategic communication method used to influence perceptions and tilt the balance in Israel’s favor. In the midst of one of the darkest chapters in our history, we’re witnessing a live-streamed “genocide,” bombings of schools and hospitals, attacks on aid workers and journalists, and widespread human rights violations. Despite these facts, many still question them and align themselves with Israel’s defense. Why? In part, because of a meticulously crafted technique that shapes public opinion and geopolitical outcomes. Today, we’re going to delve into Israel’s intricate art of shaping perceptions.
