At the Karameh border crossing between Jordan and Israel, a Jordanian truck driver named Maher Diab Hussein Al-Jazi (39 years old) opened fire on three Israeli border security personnel, killing them instantly.
He used a GTP 9C pistol to carry out the attack. He was killed in an exchange of fire with Israeli security forces.
According to a report prepared for Tel Aviv Tribune by Walid Al-Attar, the incident led to the closure of the King Hussein Bridge on both the Jordanian and Israeli sides until further notice, with tightening inspection procedures for truck drivers. The Palestinian city of Jericho, which is close to the site of the attack, was also closed.
