Hezbollah buries a prominent leader and threatens Israel News

Today, Wednesday, Hezbollah mourned the funeral of prominent leader Talib Sami Abdullah (Hajj Abu Talib), who was killed in an Israeli raid on the town of Joya in the Tire district of southern Lebanon on Tuesday evening, vowing to carry out tougher and stronger operations in terms of quantity and quality against Israel.

Hundreds of crowds in Ashura Square in the southern suburb of Beirut chanted the phrase, “Death to Israel…Death to America,” and carried Hezbollah flags and pictures of the slain leader.

During the funeral, the head of the party’s Executive Council, Hashem Safi al-Din, threatened Israel, saying, “If the (Israeli) enemy is screaming and moaning about what happened to him in northern Palestine, let him prepare himself to cry and wail.”

He added, “Our inevitable answer after the martyrdom of Abu Talib is that we will increase our operations in intensity, strength, quantity and quality, and let the enemy wait for us in the field.”

He stressed that “the enemy has not learned from all past experiences when he believed that assassinating leaders weakens the resistance, but experience has proven that the more leaders are martyred, the more stable and entrenched the resistance becomes.”

drone

Yesterday evening, Tuesday, an Israeli drone fired missiles at a house in the town of Joya (25 kilometers from the border with Israel), killing Hajj Abu Talib and 3 members of the party.

Hajj Abu Talib is a prominent leader no less important than the leader Wissam al-Tawil, who was assassinated by Israel last January.

In response to the assassination of Hajj Abu Talib, Hezbollah fired at least 170 missiles at Israel, which is the largest attack since the start of the confrontations between them on October 8.

Israeli Army Radio reported that about 215 shells and missiles were fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel.

The Israeli Home Front said that 21 firefighting teams and 8 aircraft tried to put out the fires caused by the missiles launched from Lebanon.

Hezbollah announced that it had targeted the Balasan Military Industries Factory in the Sa`sa settlement with missiles, as well as the Northern Corps Command at the Ein Zeitim base, the Northern Corps reserve headquarters at the Galilee Division reserve base, and its stores in Amiad and other areas, in addition to the Zarit Barracks.

The party also announced that it bombed the sites of Ramtha, Ruwaisat al-Qarn, al-Samaqa, and al-Raheb in the occupied Shebaa Farms and Kafr Shuba hills, confirming direct casualties.

Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that sirens sounded in the Shtoula area in the Western Galilee on the border with Lebanon.

Israeli raids

On the other hand, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent in southern Lebanon reported that Israeli fighters carried out raids on the vicinity of the towns of Yater, Zibqin, Yaroun, Deir Saryan, and the Wadi Saluki area in southern Lebanon.

Israeli artillery also bombed with incendiary shells the surroundings of the towns of Aita al-Shaab, al-Qawzah, Wadi Shihin, al-Jubain, and al-Adaysah.

Since October 8, Palestinian and Lebanese factions in Lebanon, including Hezbollah and the Israeli army, have exchanged daily bombardments across the dividing “Blue Line,” resulting in hundreds killed and wounded, most of them on the Lebanese side.

The factions in Lebanon say that they stand in solidarity with the Gaza Strip, which has been exposed to an Israeli war since October 7 that left nearly 122,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid deadly famine and massive destruction.
