A group of Afghan, Syrian and Iraqi asylum seekers arrive by bicycle from Russia at the Finnish crossing point of Salla.

The border crossing is about 400 kilometers north of St. Petersburg.

Finland has already closed four border crossings further south and is threatening to close the other four.

Helsinki accuses Moscow of knowingly allowing undocumented migrants to pass through.

Finland joined NATO last April and shares a 1,340 kilometer border with Russia.

Since the end of August, the Finnish authorities have recorded an influx of visa-free migrants from the Middle East and Africa.

For its part, Russia denies seeking to exploit migrants and ensures that its border guards respect their service instructions.
