Israeli analysts criticized the performance of their army in its war on the Gaza Strip, and said that it was killing indiscriminately and targeting children, while controversy continues in Israeli media regarding the goals of the war and the fate of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The debate raged on Israeli stations and channels about the war in the Gaza Strip, and Gideon Levy from Haaretz newspaper acknowledged that the Israeli army is killing Palestinian children in Gaza, and said: Should children be killed?

He added – in a discussion session on Channel 13 – that Israeli soldiers “kill randomly, and what is happening in the Gaza Strip cannot be shown on this screen or on any other screen.”

Participants in the discussion opposed Levy’s claim, claiming that Israel was subjected to a “brutal attack and an existential threat,” and that the Palestinian resistance “killed 1,200 people and kidnapped hundreds of them inside Gaza.”

Former Chief of Staff, General Dan Halutz, described what is happening in Gaza as a difficult conflict, “and if we succeed, there could be killing in the streets,” and called for caution after that, “because the brigades of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir have become armed.”

The Israeli media discussion also covered the internal controversy over Netanyahu’s fate, and Yarden Vatikai, the former head of the national media department, refused to focus on the issue of changing the prime minister without giving importance to what he considered to be the defeat of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the liberation of those detained by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.

Meanwhile, a former employee in the Israeli army and the Shin Bet security service, Shosh Ryan, described Netanyahu as a dangerous man who harms the security of the State of Israel, and called for his arrest and investigation according to the law.

In the same context, Israeli Channel 13 quoted Micky Rosenthal, a former member of the Knesset, as saying: “The Israeli public has run out of patience, and in the coming weeks we will see an increase in the number of people who will demand Netanyahu’s dismissal.”
