A Hebrew channel revealed, on Wednesday evening, that the Israeli General Security Service, the Shin Bet, had received crucial information before the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7, indicating that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) was about to carry out an attack after Yom Kippur, which comes at the end of the year. September every year.

The private Hebrew Channel 12 said that information reached the Shin Bet during the summer, indicating that Hamas had planned a large-scale attack in early October.

The channel indicated that the warning received in the summer was re-disclosed, as part of the Shin Bet’s investigation into the source of the intelligence failure.

The agency officials claimed that during the search, no additional information was found that supported this intelligence.

The Shin Bet responded to the channel’s report by saying, “At this time, we are focusing on the fighting. The Shin Bet is ready to conduct in-depth and comprehensive investigations for the benefit of learning and drawing lessons, and in this context all information that was available will be examined.”

Previous investigation

This revelation was preceded by an investigation published by Haaretz newspaper in the first week of this month, in which it said that intelligence had issued warnings before the Hamas attack; However, the occupation army did not move to evacuate the concert that was taking place in the open air near the Ra’im settlement.

The investigation stated that the Israeli security forces received sufficient warnings indicating that Hamas was about to carry out an attack inside Israeli settlements.

Senior military officials entered into urgent consultations the night before the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, but none of the army officials warned the organizers or participants in the festival, and for 9 hours no one came to rescue them.

The Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, surprised Israel on October 7 with a large-scale attack on the settlements surrounding Gaza, which resulted in the killing of about 1,500 Israelis and the capture of dozens.
