Faced with a particularly high volume of rain, several regions of Germany, France and the United Kingdom are experiencing flooding.
As the level of the Laïta continues to rise, the town of Quimperlé in Finistère is on alert. Following severe weather, the river level now exceeds three meters. And local authorities fear flooding, like last year. Faced with the risk, Laïta was placed on orange alert and several businesses had to close.
Across the Rhine, many regions have also been facing flooding for several days. This is particularly the case in the northwest, in Lower Saxony, where hundreds of people had to be evacuated. Heavy rain is still expected in some areas and the risk of flooding is still present.
Storm Henk, which swept across part of France, also caused damage in the south of the United Kingdom, with more than 300 flood alerts. The district of Greenwich, in south London, is particularly affected by violent winds. In the west of England, a motorist was killed after a tree fell on his car.
