The head of European diplomacy arrived in Kyiv for a two-day visit. The IAEA director is also in Ukraine to inspect the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
Josep Borrell began his 2-day diplomatic visit this Tuesday in Kyiv. Upon his arrival, the head of European diplomacy attended a Ukrainian police training exercise aimed at stabilizing the situation in the liberated territories.
This will be followed by a meeting with the President, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Defense, then a visit to the Rada.
“I think we’ll train 150, then we’ll bring in more and more and more. The Ukrainian forces will have adequate training to face a much more difficult situation than expected: regaining control of your territory , to restore life, to support the population, to make public institutions function again” repeated Josep Borrell.
On Tuesday morning, two Russian missiles struck the town of Zolochiv, in northeastern Ukraine, killing four people, including a two-month-old baby. 3 other people were seriously injured. Other buildings were also destroyed by rocket fire.
The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency is also back in Ukraine to inspect the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. During a press conference organized in Kyiv, Rafael Grossi recalled that the “Russia has a great responsibility because it controls the situation at the plant.”
