The girl was trembling in her barefoot sleepwear clothes while she was crying over a mud -drowned meadow, and she looked at the sky in search of rescue helicopters and around her other children waiting for someone to return to carry them to safety.
This is how the New York Times reported the testimonies of survivors, savior and relatives of missing persons who still face painful news after the horrific flood that killed more than 80 people in the US state of Texas.
The newspaper said in a report published today that the catastrophic floods began on Friday, after the level of the Guadalobi River rose 20 feet within two hours, and the water swept camping sites and summer camps caught scenes of destruction and fear, according to the newspaper.
The newspaper emphasized that the rescue teams continue their efforts despite the renewed rain, using helicopters, boats, drones and small vehicles, but hope is declining to find survivors over time, with efforts to rescue to recover the bodies.
The newspaper said that the most affected areas were the CARE province, as it was “Camp Misk”, a Christian summer camp for girls.
According to the reports, about 200 girls and employees have been evacuated from a MST camp, and 850 people from Texas as a whole so far, with the participation of dozens of helicopters, multiple rescue teams, hundreds of workers and volunteers, and some are still awaiting a chance to survive.
The newspaper pointed out that the sudden floods violently surprised the residents, as a 22 -year -old young woman was rescued after she remained clinging to a tree all night, and a little girl floated on a level for several hours, while a mother and her son spent the night embracing and with a survival tree.
The New York Times also reported the death of Father Julian Ryan in Ingram, after he broke his house window to save his children and mother -in -law from the escalating water, causing severe injuries, and the rescue teams found his body after 6 hours of flood with the decline of water.

Rescue crews
In a separate report, the newspaper shed light on the efforts of the rescue crews, and the Scott Roskan certificate, a 26 -year -old coast sentiment swimmer, was conveyed, and he fought his first mission in the “Mictek” camp.
Rosskan said he had received a relief call at dawn when he asked him to prepare immediately, and he headed on a helicopter to the camp, and the arduous flight took 6 hours due to bad weather.
Upon arrival, Roskan began to evacuate the girls himself, some of them on his arms to the helicopters, and recalled what he saw, stressing that “the girls were wearing wet sleepwear, some with one shoes, and they were trembling with fear and asking about their friends, and terror fills their faces, looking for someone to reassure them.”
Roskan added that he decided to stay on the ground instead of returning to the helicopter, so that the seats could be used to evacuate more girls.

Family flooded family
In another report, the New York Times dealt with the story of the Chavari family in the city of Kurville, where teacher Haley Chavary, 28, sat outside a church to house the survivors, awaiting reports of 5 members of her family who lost after the water swept their camp during a family camping trip.
Chavari, who was received by the flood news in Austin, said that the family was hanging next to the river, and she decided to leave at dawn on Friday when the water began to rise, but the current was faster than them, and the family truck was found shattered on the trunk of a tree and completely empty.
“If I think about the worst scenarios, I will lose my mind, all I want to know is the place of my family.”
According to the report, the only survivor of the family – which included the mother of Chavari, her mother’s husband, aunt, her aunt’s husband and a aunt’s daughter – is her cousin, Divin Smith, 22, who saved her after the current washed away for a distance of 15 miles and escaped by clinging to a tree for several hours, but she was transferred to the hospital with severe wounds.
Chavari pointed out that her older sister is trying to maintain her cohesion, but they suffer with the lack of news about their loved ones, and she said that she alternates with her sister to contact the honest to repeat the painful question itself: “Is one of our loved ones there? Just tell us, even if his death is confirmed.”
The report added that US President Donald Trump responded to the ruler’s request and announced a state of emergency, to provide federal aid to the affected areas.

“Misk” camp
A report published by the Washington Post said that the two girls, Sarah Marsh and René Smisterla, who were 8 years old, were among the hundreds of girls in “Camp Maste”, where they gathered to hunt, play games and make bracelets, before the sudden flood was swept away.
The report pointed out that the pictures of the two girls spread later, one of which wears a pink shirt and smiles with joy, and commented uncle Smisterla, saying, “We are grateful because she was with her friends in her last moments, she spends the best days of her life … and she will still live in Camp, forever.”
The report stated that Dick Estlan, the co -director of “Camp Maste”, died while trying to save 3 girls from a cabin near the river, and he was found next to them, and one of his colleagues said, “He died while trying to save the girls of the ritual, he was the most important thing in his life.”
According to the testimonies, Eastlan was like a father for girls, teaching them how to collapse fish, and he later died in a helicopter while he was transferred to Houston Hospital, according to the provincial judge.
In the local Church of Notrendam in Kerville, dozens of people gathered to pray for the affected families, and Reverend Hernandez Garcia told the newspaper that “our hearts bleed for every child who has not found it, and for every pain that has resolved with our society that still loves despite the loss.”
