The head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Ismail Haniyeh, said in a recorded speech addressed to Palestinian media professionals on the occasion of “Loyalty to the Palestinian Journalist Day,” which falls today, Sunday, that more than 100 journalists became martyrs in the Israeli aggression on Gaza as they reported the extent of the crimes and massacres committed against them. Palestinian people.

Haniyeh said, “On the Day of Loyalty to the Palestinian Journalist, I cannot help but extend a greeting of pride, pride and might to all the Palestinian media figures and journalists who risk their lives in order to convey the image, the truth, the heroism and the steadfastness of our people and our resistance and to convey the extent of the brutal and hideous crimes and massacres committed by the Zionist occupation against our Palestinian people.”

He added, “More than 100 journalists became martyrs in the Zionists’ aggression against Gaza, and they are in the field, images and words stained with the blood of martyrdom and martyrs.”

He continued: “Greetings to you in the immortals. Greetings to you while you are in the field. Greetings to you as you perform your duty and do everything necessary.”

The number of press martyrs in the Gaza Strip reached 106 martyrs, according to statistics from the government media office in the Strip. They rose by the occupation’s targeting of media crews and journalists’ homes.

The Hamas movement also said in a statement today, Sunday, on this occasion, “The Day of Loyalty to the Palestinian Journalist is an important national occasion, in recognition and appreciation of these guerrilla heroes, who stood and are standing today, in our people’s heroic battle (the Al-Aqsa flood), while they are united with their people in the Gaza Strip.” “.

The movement indicated that journalists “have been living his pain, hopes and aspirations, and have endured the same pain, injustice, killing and displacement, due to the ongoing Nazi aggression, for nearly 3 months,” according to what was reported by the Palestinian Information Center.

She said: “This Nazi occupation has become the most prominent and dangerous enemy to the press and journalists in Palestine, because they were the scandalous and revealing tool for its crimes, terrorism, and aggression against our people, our land, and our sanctities.”

A number of international journalists in the Gaza Strip, and media professionals in the government media office in the Strip, carried out a protest – this Sunday afternoon – on the occasion of the Day of Loyalty to the Palestinian Journalist.

According to the Palestinian Information Center, Israel killed 106 Palestinian journalists, injured dozens of other journalists, and killed dozens of journalists’ families in an attempt to intimidate them and silence their voices.

The commemoration of the Palestinian Journalist Loyalty Day on December 31 comes in a tradition that began in 2010, based on the decision of the Palestinian government in the Gaza Strip, in order to honor the Palestinian journalist and his role in conveying the Palestinian narrative in the conflict with the occupation, and promoting the values ​​of freedom of expression.
