The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) considered – on Friday – that the military operation of the occupation army in the West Bank is part of Israel’s plans to seize the lands of the West Bank and displace its people.
Hamas said in a statement that “the occupation’s continuation of its military operation in the West Bank, which is currently concentrated in the city of Jenin (north), represents a continuation of the war crimes it has previously committed in all the governorates of the West Bank, all the way to Gaza.”
She added that this military operation by the Israeli army comes within the context of its plan to “seize the lands of the West Bank and expel and displace its people from it.”
She stressed that “the failure of the occupation in its aggression against the cities of Tulkarm and Tubas (north) and other areas in the West Bank is the inevitable result that it will suffer through its current aggression against Jenin.”
She added, “The occupation’s massacres, crimes and violations in the West Bank will not undermine the steadfastness of our people and the strength of our resistance.”
Hamas called on the Palestinian people of all stripes to “unite behind the option of resistance and escalate the clash with the Israeli occupation and settlers.”
It also called on the Arab and Islamic nations and the international community to “work seriously to stop the occupation’s aggression and criminal behavior, which blatantly contradicts all international conventions and norms.”
It is noteworthy that the occupation army began a large and continuous military operation at dawn on Wednesday in the governorates of Tulkarm, Jenin and Tubas in the northern West Bank, the largest since 2002.
The occupation army withdrew yesterday evening from Tulkarm and from Al-Far’a camp in Tubas, leaving behind great destruction, and arrested dozens of citizens.
The occupation army – in conjunction with its war on Gaza since October 7, 2023 – escalated its attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, killing 673 Palestinians, including 150 children, injuring more than 5,400 citizens, and arresting more than 10,000 Palestinians.
