The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said that the scenes of Palestinian Authority security forces beating citizens and forcing them to support its narrative regarding its security campaign are a dangerous transgression.

The movement warned of the consequences of the authority resorting to “this disgraceful approach and dangerous behavior,” and also warned of what it described as the state of indifference shown by the authority toward calls and initiatives demanding the end of the hand of its security services.

She said in a statement issued in this regard, “The scenes of members of the Authority’s security services beating and humiliating citizens, and their persecution of women and young men, and forcing them under threat to provide testimonies or write publications supporting its misleading narrative regarding its anti-national security campaign targeting resistance in the West Bank, is a dangerous transgression and a new decline in the behavior of these repressive agencies.” For the sake of our people.”

The movement warned that this would “threaten the societal peace of our Palestinian people, especially at this fateful and sensitive time in the history of our national cause.”

She stressed that “the escalation of the authorities’ practices and their reaching this unprecedented level requires a firm stance and an active movement from all components of our society to repel this invasion against our steadfast people and their valiant resistance.”

The movement called for an immediate and complete cessation of all violations committed by the Authority against the Palestinian people, to prevent tearing apart the fabric of society and diverting the national compass from the real and fateful battle with the Israeli occupation.

Deaths and accusations

Hamas’s statement comes at a time when the Palestinian Authority continues a security campaign in the Jenin camp in the northern occupied West Bank, for about 3 weeks, under the pretext of fighting what it describes as “chaos and insecurity” in the camp, amid condemnation from many Palestinian factions, and accusations of the authority pursuing Palestinian resistance fighters and seeking To disarm the resistance.

Clashes renewed yesterday evening, Thursday, between the resistance and the Palestinian Authority security services inside the camp, and local sources reported that fires broke out in homes in the camp as a result of the clashes.

The clashes, which have continued for three weeks, resulted in the killing of Yazid Jaaysa, who was persecuted by the Israeli occupation and a leader in the Jenin Brigade, affiliated with the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement.

The death toll from the Palestinian security operation also rose to 7 Palestinians, 3 members of the security forces and 4 citizens.

A state of tension prevails in the city of Jenin and its camp, and sounds of explosions and exchanges of gunfire are heard from time to time.

For 4 years, Jenin Camp has been subjected to almost daily Israeli incursions, which resulted in the martyrdom of dozens of resistance fighters and the destruction of the camp’s infrastructure.
