Mahmoud al-Mardawi, a leader in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), said that the conditions of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the ongoing negotiations “will disappear and fall,” pledging to impose the will of the resistance and the Palestinian people on him.
Al-Mardawi stressed – during an interview with Tel Aviv Tribune – that the release of Israeli prisoners in the Gaza Strip will only take place through a prisoner exchange deal, stressing that any agreement will only be reached through a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Netzarim and Philadelphi axes.
He added, “The resistance said that this file will not be closed except by an agreement, and it cannot be done with the presence of a single Israeli soldier on the land of Gaza,” noting that this is what Hamas conveyed to the Qatari and Egyptian mediators.
And considered The release of Israeli prisoners through military action failed miserably, holding Netanyahu fully responsible, and accusing him of obstructing all proposals and placing obstacles in the way of concluding a swap deal.
Al-Mardawi continued, threatening, “We will break Netanyahu, and he will submit to us, and we will force him to act according to our will, and he will not achieve any of his goals,” stressing that Netanyahu will only submit to pressure, which was confirmed by Abu Obeida, the spokesman for the Qassam Brigades – the military wing of Hamas – in his recent tweets.
He sent a message to Washington that the war would endanger US strategic interests in the region, as Netanyahu was pushing towards a regional war “if he continues his security and intelligence blindness and political failure.”
The Hamas leader also sent a message to the families of the Israeli prisoners, saying that everyone is seeing how Netanyahu wants to kill the prisoners, adding, “They must know that their sons will not be freed except with the resistance’s approval of any agreement that is reached.”
He stressed that time is running out, especially since the conditions under which the occupation army is placing the Israeli prisoners in Gaza are extremely difficult and complex.
Shortly before the interview, Al-Qassam published a final message from an Israeli female prisoner who was among the six prisoners whose bodies the occupation army announced had been recovered from a tunnel in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
It also published a picture showing one of its fighters holding his pistol in his hand in front of an Israeli prisoner, with clear phrases in Arabic and Hebrew: “Military pressure equals death and failure. Exchange deal equals freedom and life.”
Yesterday, Sunday, Al-Qassam broadcast a message to the Israeli society stating that “Netanyahu chose the Philadelphi Corridor at the expense of liberating your prisoners,” noting that these six prisoners were alive but have become a thing of the past, and affirming that Netanyahu is creating dozens of Ron Arads.
