Hamas says it will release the captives according to the calendar stated in Truce after the agreement of fears would not hold after the violations of Israel.
Hamas says that it is attached to the release of captives held in Gaza according to a calendar stated in a ceasefire, a few days after the fears occurred that the truce will not hold the violation by Israel of the agreement.
In a statement published on Thursday, Hamas said that it “confirms the continuation of the implementation of the agreement in accordance with what has been signed, including the exchange of prisoners according to the specified calendar”.
Hamas spokesperson Abdul Latif Al-Qanoua also confirmed to the Anadolu news agency that the group would release captives on Saturday if Israel adheres under the ceasefire.
“The occupation (Israeli) has violated the agreement several times, whether by preventing the return of displaced people or blocking the entry of humanitarian aid,” he said. “If Israel does not adhere under the agreement, the prisoners’ exchange process will not take place.”
A Palestinian source quoted by the AFP news agency said Thursday that the mediators had obtained from Israel a “promise … to set up a humanitarian protocol from this morning” which would allow construction equipment and temporary housing in the devastated territory.
Hamas’ declaration added that the talks that were held this week in Cairo aimed to overcome an impasse in the implementation of the agreement had been “positive”.
Later Thursday, Israel said that Hamas was to release three living captives on Saturday or that Israel would return to war.
This week, the agreement with Israel was subjected to strong tension.
Hamas warned that it would delay the next release of captives scheduled for Saturday due to the violation of the truce in Israel by pulling on the Palestinians in Gaza and not allowing the agreed number of tents, shelters and Other vital aids to enter the besieged enclave.
Israel replied by saying that if Hamas had failed to release the captives according to the calendar, he would resume his war.
Since the ceasefire entered into force on January 19, Israeli forces killed at least 92 Palestinians and injured more than 800, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
A delegation from Hamas arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to discuss the ceasefire with the mediators of Egypt and Qatar.
The Egyptian state media said heavy equipment and trucks carrying mobile houses were ready to enter Egypt on Thursday. The AFP news agency shared images showing a row of bulldozers on the Egyptian side of the border.
However, Israel later said that they would not be allowed to enter through the crossing.
“There is no entry of caravans or heavy equipment in the Gaza Strip, and there is no coordination for this,” wrote Omer Dostri, spokesperson Benjamin Netanyahu, Adding: “No merchandise is allowed to enter the Gaza Deptting the crossing of Rafah.
Hamas previously accused Israel of maintaining the delivery of heavy machines necessary to clean the large quantities of rubble on the enclave.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, had warned this week that “hell” would be unleashed if Hamas had not released “all” the remaining captives at noon (10:00 GMT) on Saturday.
If the fighting resumes, the Israeli Minister of Defense Israel Katz said: “The new Gaza war … will not end without the defeat of Hamas and the release of all hostages.”
“This will also allow the vision of the American president Trump for Gaza,” he added.
Trump, whose return to the White House has embarked on the Israeli far right, caused a global outcry on his proposal so that the United States takes care of the Gaza Strip and move its 2.3 million residents in Egypt or in Jordan.
The truce of Gaza, currently in its first phase, saw Israeli captives released into small groups in exchange for Palestinians in Israeli police custody.
