A member of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Bassem Naim, said that the movement’s response to US President Joe Biden’s proposal regarding the Gharra Strip was not limited to acceptance or rejection, but rather related to an integrated project consisting of several elements, including a ceasefire and the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from Gaza, reconstruction, the return of displaced persons, prisoner exchange, and other points included in the initiative that were discussed.

Yesterday evening, Tuesday, the Palestinian resistance delivered its response to the proposal, which Biden said was originally an Israeli proposal, to the mediators in both Qatar and Egypt.

Naim added, in exclusive statements to Tel Aviv Tribune Net, that the answer, in general, includes an explanation of the movement’s position on each point separately, and what is acceptable from it, and “therefore, the movement’s response represents its primary goal on how to reach an end to the aggression and massacre against our people.” Without giving up our basic demands “related to a complete ceasefire, the complete withdrawal of Zionist forces, the return of displaced persons to all regions, and the launch of the reconstruction process.”

Regarding the next step after Hamas’ response, a member of the movement’s political bureau stressed that “the ball is now in the court of the Zionist enemy and the American administration, which must adhere to what it has repeatedly announced, that this agreement reach a comprehensive ceasefire and the withdrawal of all forces,” and not cause any Fundamental geographic or demographic changes in the Gaza Strip, the return of the displaced, and the start of the reconstruction process in the entire Gaza Strip, and “this is the essence of the recent Security Council resolution that the movement welcomed.”

Last Sunday, the UN Security Council adopted a resolution submitted by Washington calling for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and stressing the importance of Qatari, Egyptian and American mediation efforts.
