Today, Friday, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) called on the world unions to boycott Israel and prohibit trade and investment with its companies and pressure them by all means to isolate them and reject its crimes against humanity, with the war of its collective annihilation on the Gaza Strip continuing 19 months ago.

The movement said, in a statement, “We value the decision of the Union of Norway Trade Unions to boycott the Zionist occupation and the ban on trade and investment with its companies,” and described the move as “courage” as it embodies “an explicit biking of truth and justice and a victory for the rights of the Palestinian people.”

Hamas appealed to the labor and trade union federations around the world to follow the example of “this moral position, and the continued pressure by all available means to isolate this fascist entity and expose its crimes against humanity.”

Last week, Steinar Krogstad, Vice President of the Union of Trade Unions in Norway, said that the Norwegian sovereign wealth fund, which is valued at $ 1.8 trillion, must withdraw its investments from all companies that help Israel.

The Union of Trade Unions in Norway has not yet issued a statement regarding their decision to boycott Israel and withdraw investments from its companies.

Last April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Espin Barth Eddie, during a press conference held with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, in the capital, Ankara, expressed his concern about the silence of some Western countries towards the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinians, denouncing the reluctance of foreign ministers of those countries to declare this.

Israel has been continuing a widespread extermination war against the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip, since October 7, 2023, including killing, destruction, starvation and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders to the International Court of Justice to stop it.

The US -backed war left more than 172,000 dead and wounded by the Palestinians, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
