The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) appealed to the United Nations and the international community to take immediate decisions to provide relief to the residents of the Gaza Strip, provide them with all their needs, and stop the crime of starvation and extermination to which they are subjected. The movement also called in a statement on Arab and Islamic countries to put pressure to open the crossings and force the entry of aid into the Strip.

Hamas said in a statement on Tuesday, “The criminal war of starvation waged by the terrorist Israeli occupation against our people in the Gaza Strip, including children, women and the elderly, continues, and the manifestations of famine and humanitarian catastrophe are escalating, especially in the Gaza and northern governorates.”

The movement stressed in its statement that “the Nazi occupation government is practicing the ugliest forms of collective punishment against defenseless civilians by imposing a strict siege on the Gaza Strip, closing crossings, and preventing aid convoys from entering.”

Hamas called on the United Nations and the international community to take immediate decisions to provide relief to our people in the Gaza Strip, provide them with all their needs, and stop the crime of starvation and extermination to which they are being subjected.

It also called on Arab and Islamic countries to put pressure to open the crossings, operate convoys, force their entry into the Gaza Strip, and challenge the Zionist will that seeks to monopolize our people and liquidate their cause.

The movement said, “Manifestations of famine and humanitarian catastrophe are escalating in the Gaza Strip, especially in the Gaza and North governorates, and the occupation continues to practice acts of starvation war and commit brutal massacres of the residents of the Strip who are besieged in the ugliest forms of collective punishment.”

warning

Earlier yesterday, Monday, the Government Information Office in the Gaza Strip warned that hundreds of thousands in the northern Strip were exposed to thirst as a result of the intensification of the crisis in the availability of drinking water, after the occupation army destroyed water desalination plants and water wells in Gaza City and the northern Strip, in addition to the lack of fuel to operate pumps. Water.

The office indicated in a statement that “the Israeli occupation and the American administration insist on putting 2.4 million civilians in the Gaza Strip into a famine tunnel, perpetuating the policy of starvation against children and the sick, and preventing the entry of food and medicine, in a dangerous and inhumane manner.”

The Israeli occupation forces’ continued prevention of the entry of sufficient amounts of aid into the Gaza Strip led to a rapid rise in famine rates, with the vast majority of the Strip’s population relying on aid to obtain food.

On May 7, the Israeli occupation army took control of the Rafah crossing, a day after Tel Aviv announced the start of a military operation in the city crowded with displaced people, which exacerbated the humanitarian situation due to the scarcity of aid.

As a result of the war and Israeli restrictions that violate international laws, the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip suffer from a severe scarcity of food, water and medicine supplies, to the point where deaths from hunger have been recorded.

Since last October 7, Israel has been waging a devastating war on the Gaza Strip with absolute American support, leaving more than 122,000 Palestinians dead or wounded.

Israel continues its aggression despite two UN Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately, and orders from the International Court of Justice to end the Rafah invasion and take measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
