The Confederation of African Football revealed on Thursday, December 7, the list of finalists for its supreme individual award: Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah, Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi and Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen
Victor Osimhen, Italian champion with Naples and quarter-finalist of the Champions League, and Mohamed Salah were the first two African players in the ranking of the last Ballon d’Or (8th place for Osimhen, 11th for Salah).
Achraf Hakimi can rely on Morocco’s good performance at the 2022 World Cup, the Atlas Lions being the first African selection to reach the semi-finals of the competition.
