Gideon Levy: Israel achieved nothing with the war on Gaza | Israelo-Palestinian conflict

Israeli journalist Gideon Levy on the implications of Israeli strategy for a long-term war in Gaza.

Given the choice between war and the restitution of all its captives, Israel opted for more war, says Israeli journalist Gideon Levy.

Levy told host Steve Clemons that Israeli politicians might abandon Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but that even if he were replaced, Israel would continue its war on Gaza and the occupation of the Palestinian people as a whole. A “radical change” in the Israeli attitude and support from the United States are necessary for any improvement in the situation, Levy says.

After October 7, even those on the Israeli left think that Israel has the right to do what it wants, says the Haaretz columnist.
