Ghana coach Chris Hughton unveiled his list for the next African Cup of Nations (CAN 2024) on Monday. A list which includes the Ayew brothers but not Thomas Partey (Arsenal), injured.

Ghana will be without Thomas Partey and Tariq Lamptey, both injured. Chris Hughton revealed on Monday January 1st his list of 27 players he will take to play in the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. A list which still includes the inevitable Ayew brothers.
Partey’s absence comes as Ghana coach Chris Hughton said he would need more time to recover from his hamstring injury.
“If it wasn’t for his injury he would definitely be in the team. We know the quality of this player,” Hughton told a press conference on Monday. “I have spent a lot of time with Thomas and the Arsenal medical staff. This is the biggest injury he has ever had. It is important to give him the support he needs during this period.”
Lamptey was injured playing for Brighton & Hove Albion in November, after which his manager Roberto de Zerbi said he would be out for a “significant period”.
Ghana have included Andre Ayew in the squad, meaning he will compete in a record-tying eighth Nations Cup. Since his first appearance in 2008, he has participated in every tournament except the 2013 edition.
Ghana, four-time winner of the event, is playing in Group B of the Nations Cup. It will begin with a match against Cape Verde on January 14 and will then meet Egypt and Mozambique.
