This Tuesday, due to lack of electricity, the electric vehicle manufacturer had to stop production, until further notice, in its factory located in the suburbs of Berlin.

This is sabotage that risks costing Tesla dearly. According to local authorities, an electricity pylon caught fire near the site.

Which would also have led to power cuts in certain areas of the German capital. Tesla estimates that this incident will cost it several hundred million euros.

The sabotage was claimed by a group of environmental activists, known to the police for similar acts. In 2021, these activists had already claimed responsibility for an arson attack on a Tesla construction site.

This factory, located in a wooded area, is Tesla’s only one in Europe. Recently, the American giant’s plan to expand the site to increase its production capacity aroused the anger of environmental defenders. For several days, activists have occupied a forest near the site to prevent possible work.
