The syndicate Marburger Bund called today more than 20,000 university hospital doctors on strike“warning”. The union is demanding a salary increase of 12.5% and higher premiums for night work, weekends and holidays. The third round of negotiations with the federal states had already failed.
In order to strengthen their demands, doctors in several cities went on strike. The central gathering will begin in Hanover at 1 p.m.. Several thousand participants are expected. Due to the so-called “warning” strike, restrictions will be imposed in the affected clinics. However, emergency care and life-saving treatment should be guaranteed.
