Today, Monday, German police launched a search campaign that included homes in the capital, Berlin, against the backdrop of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
Police said on the X platform that five men were suspected of “committing crimes with pro-Palestinian motives.”
A police spokeswoman said that the campaign is continuing and about 125 police officers are participating.
The German police launched a similar campaign last November in some German cities, saying it was targeting members of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the pro-Palestinian “Standfast for the Defense of Prisoners” network, which are banned in the country, and those sympathizing with them, according to a ministry statement.
At the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle, Germany banned demonstrations in support of Gaza, which is being subjected to a war of extermination by the Israeli occupation.
German Interior Minister Nancy Weiser also announced her support for expelling Hamas supporters from Germany, and the leader of the Social Democratic Party supported this position, calling on the country’s Muslims to condemn the movement that resists the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
