Abdullah Abu Daqqa says, “Despite the war and the destruction of our house, I insisted on buying a sacrifice and slaughtering it in front of my house, which was destroyed by the occupation,” adding that the prices of sacrifices in the Gaza Strip are very high this year due to the siege and the ban on their entry, as the price of my sacrifice reached 4 thousand shekels (one dollar equals 3.72). shekel)”

He continued, “The people of Gaza are great. They sacrificed everything they owned during the war of extermination, where their homes were destroyed and their children were killed, but they continue to live, and our homes that were destroyed by the occupation will be rebuilt again,” noting that purchasing the sacrifice “brings joy and happiness to our children who are living in difficult conditions.” Tragic because of the war.”

Citizens who sacrificed on Eid al-Adha seek to distribute their sacrificial meat to the poor, who suffer from a lack of daily sustenance due to the war and the destruction it left in their homes and property.

Yesterday, Saturday, the government media office in Gaza considered that Israel’s ban on bringing in sacrificial animals deprives hundreds of thousands of families in the Strip of the opportunity to commemorate Eid al-Adha and slaughter sacrifices as part of Islamic religious rituals.

Since the beginning of the war, Israel has closed the Gaza Strip crossings and prevented the entry of goods, while allowing very small and limited amounts of humanitarian aid to enter last November, through the Rafah land border crossing with Egypt, before taking control of the Palestinian side of it on May 7. Israel continues its aggression against the Gaza Strip despite the issuance of two UN Security Council resolutions to stop it immediately, and orders from the International Court of Justice to end the invasion of Rafah, take measures to prevent acts of genocide, and improve the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
