The residents of the Gaza Strip welcomed the new year to the impact of new Israeli massacres against civilians, while the Palestinian resistance once again targeted the settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip with missiles.

Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that 17 Palestinians were martyred this Wednesday morning as a result of Israeli air strikes on Jabalia al-Balad, north of the Gaza Strip, and the Bureij camp in its centre.

The aerial and artillery bombardment continued, while the residents’ suffering worsened after rainwater flooded at least 1,500 tents housing the displaced, according to the Civil Defense in Gaza.

Palestinian sources said that an Israeli raid targeted a house for the Taroush family in Jabalia al-Balad, killing 10 Palestinians – most of them children – and wounding others.

In Bureij camp, 7 others were martyred, including women and children, according to sources.

Israeli warplanes carried out raids on other areas north of the Gaza Strip, one of which targeted a water desalination plant on Old Gaza Street in Jabalia al-Balad.

At the same time, Tel Aviv Tribune’s correspondent reported that the occupation forces blew up residential buildings this morning in Beit Lahia and the Jabalia camp, also north of the Gaza Strip.

Since the fifth of last October, the Israeli army has launched a massive aggression against the northern Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of about 4,000 Palestinians and the displacement of thousands to Gaza City in the south.

During this period, the forces penetrating the area faced fierce resistance, resulting in the killing of at least 42 Israeli soldiers, according to official Israeli data.

Bombing and evacuation

The channel also said that Israeli vehicles are continuously firing in the Al-Mawasi area, which contains large numbers of displaced people, west of Rafah.

Rocket salvo

On the other hand, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced that at midnight last night it fired a rocket salvo towards the Netivot settlement in the Gaza Strip in response to what it called Zionist massacres against civilians.

For its part, the Israeli army said that it had detected two missiles fired from the Gaza Strip towards the Netivot area, and reported that one of them was intercepted without causing casualties, while the second fell in an open area.

In the past few days, rocket attacks have been launched from areas where the Israeli occupation army is stationed in the northern Gaza Strip, including Beit Hanoun, which constituted a “surprise,” according to Israeli media.

As part of the escalating resistance operations in the northern Gaza Strip, the Al-Quds Brigades announced yesterday, Tuesday, that they had dropped a convoy of Israeli vehicles into a field of anti-armor devices in the middle of the Jabalia camp.

The Al-Quds Brigades also published scenes that they said were of missile force bombing the occupied cities of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, noting that the targeting comes in response to the continued aggression and storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
