Israel attacks Gaza hospitals in violation of international law, but is this part of a strategy dating back to 1948?
Hospitals are supposed to be safe from attack in wartime, but Israel has bombed and bombed them repeatedly since October 7, 2023. This film examines Israel’s destruction of Gaza’s hospitals in the context of its historic expansion at the expense of the Palestinian population, this dates back to 1948. The Israeli army cut off water, electricity, fuel and medical supplies to Gaza and attacked most of its hospitals. He claims that al-Shifa Hospital protected a Hamas command center and attacked it despite hundreds of civilians sheltering there – but produced little evidence to support this claim. The alleged war crimes for which the International Criminal Court is seeking arrest warrants from both sides include Israel’s deliberate targeting of civilians, many of whom have taken refuge in Gaza’s hospitals.
