The “Gaza Humanitarian Corporation” – today, Friday, announced the suspension of the distribution of food aid in the Gaza Strip “until further notice, after a series of bloody shooting incidents that claimed the lives of dozens of Palestinians near its locations.
The Foundation said – in a statement – that it closed all its four sites to distribute aid inside the sector, and urged the residents to “stay away from these sites in order to preserve their safety,” adding that the date of resumption of work will be announced at a later time.
The Foundation had opened two sites in southern Gaza yesterday, Thursday, after it was forced to close all its centers on Wednesday, after dozens of Palestinians were killed by the occupation army, near the distribution site in Rafah within 3 consecutive days.
She emphasized that she is pressuring the Israeli army to improve safety measures around its locations.
For his part, the Israeli army said that it launched “warning shots” during the past three days to prevent Palestinians who said they “approached the forces”, but later opened fire after “a number of them continued to advance.”
On the other hand, the Foundation stressed that the distribution of aid from its sites was “going safely and without accidents” until that moment.
The Foundation has faced sharp criticism from traditional relief organizations, especially those affiliated with the United Nations, which questioned its neutrality, given the support it enjoys from Washington and Tel Aviv, which the Foundation denies.
The residents of the Gaza Strip are suffering a worsening humanitarian crisis in light of the continuous blockade and continuous attacks, as many of them face a severe lack of food, water and medical care.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has launched a war of genocide in the Gaza Strip, ignoring all international calls and orders to the International Court of Justice to stop it.
The genocide, with American support, left about 180,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11 thousand missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people and the famine that have been raised the lives of the majority of the residents of the sector.
